i usual shy away at comments like this, but today when peggy said this to her friends, whom happened to be a respected director of photography of features and independent writer/director - i froze from saying anything and all i could do was smirk and probably turned red. taken back from what she had said, peggy is known for giving little to no downright praise, just strict constructive criticism. the most inspiring type of mentor - i thrive in a tough love relationship with my mentors because when your praised, you really know that you've done your best. it's near impossible for me to take pride in myself, my focus is to be as humble as possible and confident as possible - and in this moment, i just let her speak.

for the first time in awhile, all smiles are real,

the man happily married for 52 years at bedside with a woman who is no longer there, reading her favorite book to her.

the man lying stoic, face up in an empty room. i've never seen someone so frightened in there life.

everyone here holds the same expression. exaniamte, concentrated, stress, and worry.

carrying themselves with a, “maybe things will be better one day.”

“I'm ready.”
“I'm not ready.”

wondering what they're feeling, what they're seeing. One day we will all find out.

i watched a loved one have a stroke today. i pray to god that none of you ever have to witness it.

State Prepares for Possible Shutdown as Talks Continue

LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- State government starting Monday will attempt to limp along with limited state police patrols, no food safety inspections and just enough caseworkers to protect children and seniors if the governor and lawmakers fail to reach a budget deal that would avert a partial government shutdown.

There was still hope Friday that a shutdown could be avoided if Gov. Jennifer Granholm and state lawmakers could strike a deal before the next fiscal year begins at midnight Sunday to fill a $1.75 billion budget shortfall.

Slightly more than 35,000 of the state's more than 53,000 workers received notices Friday telling them not to report to work on Monday if a shutdown occurs, while the remainder -- including 12,000 prison guards -- were told they'd remain on duty to protect public health and safety.
